Privacy Policy
This policy explains how the operator of the Piping Toolbox Android app and pipingtoolbox.com (“we”, “us”) handles information. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. The Service is for people 13 or older.
Some information stays on your device. Account data, content you save, and related records are also stored on our servers and with the providers listed below. We will not use or share personal information except as described in this policy.
1. What we collect
Account. Using the app creates an account identifier. You may stay anonymous, or sign in (for example with Google or email). If you sign in, we may collect your email and the profile details you choose to provide.
Content you create. We store content you save in the app (for example messages you send, replies shown to you, and files you choose to attach). Message text and attachments are sent to our current AI provider, OpenAI, so a reply can be generated. Do not send secrets or other people’s personal data.
Usage and device. We collect basic technical and usage data needed to run and protect the Service: app and device information, advertising identifiers (if ads are shown), and crash or error logs. Those logs may include IP address, device name, operating system version, app version, and the time of the event.
Payments. If you buy a subscription, Google Play processes the payment. We receive subscription status, not your full card number.
Website. Visiting pipingtoolbox.com may create ordinary web logs (IP address, browser, pages). The site and some third-party tools may use cookies or similar technologies. You can block cookies in your browser; some pages may not work fully if you do.
We do not ask for location, contacts, SMS, or microphone. Camera or file access is used only if you choose to attach a photo or document.
2. How we use it
We use this information to provide and improve the Service, keep your account, process subscriptions and ads, send optional notifications, fix problems, protect the Service, and answer support requests.
AI replies can be wrong. They are not professional engineering advice. See the Terms of Use.
Where GDPR/UK GDPR applies, we rely on contract (features you ask for), legitimate interests (security, abuse prevention, diagnostics, improvement), consent where required (for example personalised ads), and legal obligation.
3. Who we share with
We do not sell your personal information. We share data with providers that help us run the Service, under their own policies. They may access personal information only to do the work we assign to them:
- Google Firebase — account, storage, analytics, crashes, and related backend services
- Google Play — install and payments
- Google AdMob — ads if your account includes ads
- OpenAI — content you submit for an AI reply
- RevenueCat — subscription status
- OneSignal — push notifications
- Our website host — pipingtoolbox.com
We may also disclose data if required by law or to protect the Service. Processing may occur in the United States and other countries.
The Service may link to other websites or apps. We do not operate those sites and are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. Review their policies before you use them.
4. How long we keep it
We keep account and content data until you delete it or delete your account, unless we must keep a copy for law, tax, security, or fraud prevention. Billing records follow Google Play and tax rules. Analytics, crashes, and support emails last as needed to operate the Service.
5. Your choices
You can edit your profile, delete content, or delete your account in the app (see section 6). Cancel a subscription in Google Play — deleting the app or account does not stop Play charges. You can turn off notifications, refuse camera access, and reset or limit your advertising ID in Android settings.
EEA/UK/Switzerland users may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or portability, or complain to a supervisory authority, via info@pipingtoolbox.com.
6. Account and data deletion
Use this section even if the app is uninstalled. This is the public web path to request deletion of a Piping Toolbox account and associated data.
In the app: open Settings, then Data Control, then Delete account. That removes the account data we control and does not cancel Google Play billing.
By email: write to info@pipingtoolbox.com with subject Delete my Piping Toolbox account, the email you used (or say you used the app without signing in), a Play order ID if you subscribed without signing in, and confirmation that you want deletion. We will delete data we control within a reasonably short time (about 30 days where GDPR requires it), except records we must keep for security, fraud, tax, or law, and copies already held by ads, analytics, or the AI provider under their rules.
7. Children, security, and changes
We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If we learn that we have, we will delete what we control. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information, email us.
We use commercially reasonable safeguards. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. You are responsible for your password and for what you type or attach.
We may update this policy. We will post the new version on this page with a new date. Changes take effect when posted. Please review this page from time to time. Continued use after a change means you accept it.
